DOCK ACCESS
The LWRC dock is available to the public for launching and landing human-powered (non-motorized) watercraft. Please familiarize yourself with the rules of use.
DOs and DONTs of using the LWRC dock
-
DO Use the dock to hand-launch and land your non-motorized watercraft, including kayaks, SUPs, and canoes.
-
DO Yield to rowers when they are launching and landing boats. Rowing programs generally run Monday through Friday from 5AM to 9AM and 3PM to 8PM; and from 5AM to 11AM Saturdays and Sundays. Programs may run at additional times at different times of the year; schedule changes will be posted.
-
DO Return to the dock before the gate is locked. The gate is locked at sunset or 8PM, whichever comes earliest.
-
DO Take all litter and belongings with you, and use this space respectfully.
-
DO NOT Obstruct access to the waterway by sitting or lying on the dock. The dock is a thoroughfare to the waterway, akin to a bike path. It is not intended as a place to lounge, picnic, or sunbathe.
-
DO NOT Dive or swim from the dock. Swimmers in the water are difficult for rowers and other boaters to see. If you wish to be in the water, use a flotation device to increase your visibility.
-
DO NOT Bike, skateboard, or skate on the dock, or bring your bike onto the dock.
-
DO NOT Use the dock for motorized pick-up or drop-off. Other than those belonging to LWRC, motorboats are not permitted to land or moor at the dock.
-
DO NOT Consume alcohol on the dock or engage in any other unlawful activities.
-
DO NOT Use or advertise the dock as an event venue.
-
DO NOT Use the dock for any commercial ventures.
