All of our learn to row classes are open to people with little or no rowing experience. Our small class sizes allow the coaches to focus on the needs of each individual rower. 

Lake Washington offers Learn to Row in the spring, summer, and fall. 

Learn to Row Sculling

Due to COVID restrictions, Lake Washington Rowing Club is offering a limited number of Learn to Row Classes in 2021. Learn to Row Sculling is a 3-week, 6 session class. Participants will learn the basics of rowing in individuals boats. Program is limited to 4-6 people. Students must attend all classes to progress. We also offer an Advanced Learn to Row Sculling program that is also a 3-week, 6 session class. The advanced program is for individuals with some rowing experience who wants to learn to row a single. 


Due to limited availability, classes fill quickly.

Private Lessons

Sign up for a private lesson. Each lesson is for 90 minutes and costs $90 a lesson. To sign-up, select the Private Coaching button and purchase a private lesson or a package of lessons. Please be sure to purchase lessons for non-members. Once you make a purchase, please email the LWRC office with your availability. A coach will contact you to set up a time for your lesson.

Learn to Row - Race Camp

Due to COVID-19 Summer Race Camp is on hold. If you would like to be notified when we begin Learn to Row Race Camp, please create a profile in our MindBody App and indicate Learn to Row for your area of interest. 


This program is an 8-week training regimen with an opportunity to race in August. Program is open to those who have never rowed before, interested in learning to sweep row, and race in 8-person boats. Program is 3 times a week and is limited to 18 participants. This is a great chance for those that have previously taken a LTR Sculling class and have always wanted to have the chance to race in sweep boats. Grab a group of friends and race at a local regatta!
