Job Opening: Master's Coach

Lake Washington Rowing Club is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an master's rowing coach to assist our dynamic, competitive mixed masters-level team! Our team participates in a variety of sweep and sculling events across different age categories, and we are dedicated to preserving the vibrant diversity that is crucial to our club's spirit. We encourage coaches to row with us if they want to as well. The season is "modularized," so coaches can choose a time to dedicate to rowing, and take times to join us in races!

 

Job Duties  

  • Pilot a coaching launch and assist with running team practices 

  • Work with head coach and team captains to meet team goals 

  • Prepare boats for competition and provide race day coordination 

 

Schedule 

Practices are held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:00-7:00am. from mid-February through mid-November, with breaks after regattas.

 

Compensation 

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. 

 

Qualifications 

Required

  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills 

  • Strong knowledge of boating safety 

  • Knowledge of rowing mechanics, fundamentals, and techniques 

  • USRA Coaching Level 1 certification & requirements (must obtain within 1 month of hire), which include:

    • CPR/First Aid Certified 

    • WA State Boater's License

    • SafeSport training

    • Background Check

 

Preferred

  • Experience with masters rowing 

  • Expertise in rigging
